Peloton Recalls 833,000 Bike+ Units Over Seat Post Safety Concerns
Peloton Interactive Inc. is recalling approximately 833,000 units of its original Bike+ model after reports of seat posts breaking and detaching during use. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission confirmed three incidents, including two injuries from falls. Affected bikes were manufactured between 2019-2022 and sold through April 2025.
The fitness company is offering free self-install replacement parts and has urged immediate discontinuation of use. This marks Peloton's fifth product recall, following a 2.2 million-unit recall last year for similar seat post issues. The repeated safety incidents compound challenges for the home fitness brand as pandemic-driven demand wanes.
